Principal's Message

This school year has gone by quickly and we are pleased with the growth we have seen in each of our students. Thank you for supporting our students in their education. Thank you for supporting our teachers. Thank you for supporting our school. It takes all of us working together to see the successes we have seen.

While the summer is a time to relax and unwind, we want to remind everyone of the importance of continuing to read. Have your child read individually, read together with your child, and read as a family. The more time we spend reading over the break, the better chance we have of staying caught up and getting ahead in our schooling.

We are excited to welcome many new faces next year, both students and staff. Be sure to check your child’s Skyward account in July to complete the Welcome Back registration packet and to see who your child’s teacher(s) will be.

During the summer, the front office will be open each Wednesday between 10:00 and 2:00. You are welcome to stop by on Wednesdays with any questions. You are also welcome to leave a voicemail at 435-833-1931 and we will return those messages each Wednesday.

Be sure to stay safe over the break. Have fun, relax, and read a lot! We look forward to seeing everyone again in the fall.

We strive to ensure that all students learn at high levels, both in the English and German languages.

Our staff is dedicated to helping your child succeed. Our goal is to provide a safe and positive learning environment with high expectations. Our school provides a solid foundation for your child’s educational experience. We believe parents are a major factor in student success. We welcome continued communication with your child’s teacher and the school. This is key to your child’s current and future school success. Regular attendance is also crucial to your child’s academic achievement.

We invite you to be involved in school activities and opportunities to volunteer in the classroom.  A few of those opportunities include:

  • Teacher-led instructional support, usually in the classroom
  • PTA membership and participation
  • School-wide events
  • Community Council participation
  • Room Parents

Be sure to register as a volunteer at

Please review our school website for further information about West Elementary and the school year. We thank you in advance for your support and involvement.

Again, we thank you for your partnership in your child’s education and for trusting us to be a part of this great work.
